The Main Menu allows you to access all elements of the Internet Subscription  by clicking on the options listed.
The first time you see this menu, the blue bar (GO TO THE PROGRAM SELECTION MENU) will not be visible.  At that time, you must click on CLICK HERE FOR A FREE TRIAL which will display the following screen:

This screen is used to help secure our site.  Enter the number you see on the right (in this example an 8) in the box with a red border and then click the OK button.  You will then see the following screen.
Fill in this form completely and then click the Create User button.  When you see the Main Menu again, it will display your user name and the blue bar.

If you use the programs at least once a week, the menu will remember your name and it will appear on the screen along with the blue bar.  If the user name is GUEST, you will have to login by clicking the LOGIN option and displaying the following screen:
Enter your user name and password and then click the Login Button.  You will then see the Main Menu again with your user name and the blue bar displayed.  If you forget your user name or password, click on the links provided to have them emailed to you.  If you do not receive them via email, it means that either you typed your email address incorrectly or your spam filter blocked our email.  In that case, call us at 800-727-7681 (800-PARROT-1) and we will find the information for you.


The yellow bar titled MULTI-USER CONTROL PANEL will only be displayed if you are a treatment provider.  If not skip to the next section.

The first time you use the programs you must setup at least one patient.  To setup a patient, click the yellow bar and you will see a login screen.  Enter your user name and then click the Login button to display the following screen:
To add a user click on the link: Click here to Add a User to display the New User form.
Fill in this form completely and then click the Add User button.  You will be taken back to the My Users form and the name you entered will be listed under accounts.  Click on Return to Program Menu to display the Main Menu.
Starting a Program
To start a program, click on the blue bar.  If you are a treatment provider, you will see a list of your patients. Click on the patient's name who will be using the program and you will see the categories of programs included along with two performance options. 
Home users will go directly to the following menu:
We will take you through the process of running your first program.  Click on the category Cognitive Reasoning and you will see a screen similar to the following:
Notice that the category has a square around it and the programs have a gray background.  There are more programs in this list and you can display them by sliding the bar on the right down.  In this example, click on the program Cause and Effect and you will see the following screen:
This screen will list the lessons and any options available for this program.  The lessons in this program are graded for difficulty.  If you click the following link, you can see a detailed description of each program with information about lessons and options:  Detailed Information about lessons and options
Most programs read text on the screen and supply spoken reinforcement.  You can remove speech by checking the Remove Voice check box.  After selecting a lesson and setting your preferences, click the continue button and you will see the following screen:
The question mark in the small red box is the Instructions button.  Click this button to hear or see the lesson instructions.

At the bottom of the screen you will see the lesson, item number, number correct, time taken to respond, and the average time for all items answered.  These will update as you use the lesson.

To start, click the large 'Click here to start' button and you will see the following screen:
You will hear  the question and see four possibilities listed.  When you click on a possibility, it too will be read aloud.  After selecting the correct answer click the large button to record your answer and you will hear the appropriate reinforcement.

Continue until you reach the end of the lesson or you can stop at any time by clicking the 'X' in the small red box.  After clicking the 'X', you will see the following dialog:
This page displays your progress for this lesson.  You can try the program again or go back to the Program Menu by clicking the appropriate link.

Progress Reports
To see cumulative progress, click the Progress and Information option under the list of program categories.  You will see  the following:

This table lists all of the program titles used along with the Date, Lesson, Number Attempted, Number Correct, Average Time per item, and the total time spent on the lesson.  You can also filter the information by Category showing only programs in a specified category by clicking a Category tab at the top of this page.  And finally, you can see graphs of progress by clicking the red link at the top.
This page lists all the programs and two types of graphing.  The first is Average Response Time which is an indication of progress above and beyond number correct.  After selecting a program name and the Graph Type, you will see a screen similar to the following:

Suggested Programs
One final important option is a Disability Survey that helps you determine which programs to try first.  This survey is available from the main menu by clicking TELL ME WHICH PROGRAMS I SHOULD TRY FIRST.  After clicking that option, you will see the following screen:
There are 30 questions in the survey that can be answered Yes or No.  Select the answer for each question and then click the Next button to go to the next question.  After completing the survey, you will see a page similar to the following:
This list provides the top 10 programs you should try and the category in which you will find them.  Click the Print this list button to have a hard copy of the list to refer to.  After a few weeks, try the survey again to see if the list changes.
Speech Recognition Programs
Speech Recognition is the ability of your computer to know what was said when someone speaks into a microphone.  We have added 6 speech recognition programs to the subscription.  To utilize speech recognition, you must have a Windows operating system, a low noise unidirectional microphone, and at least 512 MB or RAM.  The programs that utilize speech recognition have the word 'NEW' before them in the program menu.  The first time you try a program with speech recognition, you will see the following screen:
This page instructs you to click a link to download our Speech Recognition Browser.  After installing the browser, you will have a Parrot Icon on your desktop.  You will use that icon to start the internet subscription.
You can setup your microphone for Speech Recognition by Opening the Control Panel on your computer and double clicking the Speech Icon
